INTERNATIONAL DAY AGAINST NUCLEAR TESTS

The international day against nuclear tests is celebrated on august 29th every year. Started from 1991, It is based on the resolution of nuclear testing treaty, which is regarding increasing awareness about the effects of nuclear weapon test explosions or any disposal of wastage, and the urgent need to cease such activities.

The goal of the day is to visualize a nuclear weapon free world. The resolution was actively initiated by Kazakhstan in particular along with several sponsors to commemorate the closure of the Semipalatinsk test site.

The established of an international day against nuclear tests, all state parties have committed themselves to achieve the peace and security of a world without nuclear weapons, which is indeed very much needed in today’s world.
